The Hybrids Are Not Good Enough!!!!
The hybrid cars such as the Prius have their engine connected to the gas tank. However, the Chevy Volt Electric's gas tank is not connected to the engine but to the generator that is used to charge the battery, meaning it only burns gas when the battery becomes low after approximately 40 miles. Even though most hybrids are much more fuel efficient than nonhybrid cars, the main fact is that when you start a hybrid engine, it immediately starts burning gas even if it is less gas than a regular car burns. However, because the Volt Electric's gas tank is not connected to the engine, you will not burn a drop of gas until the generator is needed to charge the battery which has charge good for 40 miles. The Chevy Volt Electric is 3 levels more advanced than the typical hybrids, because you are guaranteed 40 miles without using any gas and if you can either return home or get to a public or private charging outlet to recharge for another 40 miles, you could possibly drive hundreds of miles without using any of the gas that would be needed for the generator to recharge the battery. This is why I truly and passionately believe, without question and doubt, that the Chevy Volt Electric is the car that can and will free Americans of the economically painful burden of high gas prices.
